To build or not to build... thats the biggest question.....

Every man should build a house, plant a tree, and have a son - Agatha Cristie (The Man from the Sea). That wasn't the only good reason for us to start thinking of building our own dream, after spending more than half of our life time (if we ever hit 70) seeing others as our dreams.

It wasn’t that we were lazy or our lack of imagination, probably we didn’t see it as a priority until one day it occurred to us that our home has shrunk because of the growing family.

Centrally there was no urgency what so ever, for us to run around looking for houses, we want to take our time. After few discussions over tea we decided, yep this time we are going to build our own dream home. This is after shifting from one continent to another and living in six different homes.

We first thought of knocking down the house we lived in, which was build thirty years ago, surrounding modest houses which are probably same age as ours. This is very convenient in every possible way, which is close to a major shopping complex, schools, Universities Trains and is walking distance from the tram. But as my wife correctly point out, what’s the point of looking out the window of your newly build house and see the remnants of dreams dreamt 30 year ago. It should be now and we should feel the present. So we are heading to outer suburbs where we can smell “present” in the air.
